Discover Reflexology

Professional therapist giving traditional thai foot massage to a woman in spa.jpg

Reflexology is a natural, focused pressure technique usually directed at the feet (or hands and ears).  It is based on the premise that there are zones and reflexes on different parts of the feet which correspond to and are relative to all parts, glands and organs of the entire body.

How Does It Work?

With specific hand and finger techniques, reflexology provides stimulation and thus, causes responses (relaxation) in corresponding parts of the body.  Relaxation is the first step to the body's return to a state of equilibrium.

If a particular part of the body is out of balance, the corresponding reflex may feel tender or sore during the treatment.  This is called a"stress cue".  Wherever it is found on a foot (face, hand or ear), it is a sign that stress and its effect have begun to accumulate in the corresponding parts of the body.  The reflexologist observes the cues of stress and applies pressure techniques to relax the indicated stresses.
